Dear Friend
line 5
Your ever kind and wel-
line 6
come letter was gladly received
line 7
on Tuesday last, I was very
line 8
pleased to hear from you
line 9
once more and to ream how
line 10
bravely you were steming off
line 11
the limited time that you
line 12
are to remain in Utah.
line 13
I feel quite disapointed
line 14
in not being able to acompany
line 15
you part way home. I cannot
line 16
leave here until Tuesday
line 17
, , eighth,
twenty seventh, The team will
line 18
not be at Milford for us until
line 19
line 20

to spend two or three days,
line 1
visiting, between here and there
line 2
You no doubt will leave
line 3
Provo on twenty eighth. I wish
line 4
you a pleasant journey over
line 5
the rough and ruged deserts.
line 6
I must say I was
line 7
very much surprised to hear
line 8
you hated to leave Provo so
line 9
bad, I wonder there isnt
line 10
some other attraction beside
line 11
school, that would stay your
line 12
lingering foot steps,
line 13
I guess your examination
line 14
will be all over with, this past
line 15
week, so you can have one week
line 16
of enjoyment before you start
line 17
home,
line 18
Our test is to come
line 19
yet, and to say I will be thankful
line 20
just expresses it in the least
line 21
or milder form. I do not think
line 22
I will be nearly so happy when
line 23
it comes as when it is over with
Page 3 line 1
"Seems as though all
line 2
the promises I ever make, hardly
line 3
any of them are ever fulfilled." I think you have repeated this same thought, in your mind, many times concerning me, but if you have time to listen to so many idle words that fall from my lij?s and pen , I would like to form a few more, Please do not except of them as promises but as words of condition; and them from a very changeable mind.
I know my adioms are very censurable but my meaning is good. It has been so long ago I had almost forgot to tell what I started out to.
Seeing I will not get to see you before you get horn, I perhaps can pay you a visit during the summer or be in company
with you when you come back to school.
I have made up my mind to stay in Logan if I can get a job of the kind of work I would like, but as times are very

dull there isnt much prospect
Page 4 line 7
of me staying here.
line 8
If you answer this
line 9
before you leave Provo be sure
line 10
to answer in time so I can
line 11
get it before Tuesday, twenty eighth,
line 12
I will expect to hear from
line 13
you, so you must not think
line 14
this April, and try and make
line 15
a fool out of me
line 16
Trusting these few lines will
line 17
find you in the best of spirits
line 18
so my cheeks will not burn from
line 19
the scolding I otherwise get.

Written across top of Page 4 I remain

as ever

Yours Truly
