    The Commission thanked the members of the Civil Service Board for being present, and suggested that the two groups should meet more often for discussion. They again ex­pressed their appreciation to Dr. Laub and Mr. Stewart for their fine service on the Civil Service Board, and the members of the Civil Service Board left the meeting. Commissioner Sharp reported favorably on the proposed ordinance to repeal Ordinance No. 731 concerning outdoor advertising signs for hotels and motels, with the following amendments: 1. In Section 3 insert the words "weekly rates" after the phrase "Low rates". 2. In Section 6, second paragraph, define the seasons speci­fically as to date. 3. In Section 9, include the repeal of Ordinance No. 731. Thereafter, an ordinance entitled: AN ORDINANCE TO REPEAL ORDINANCE NO. 731; REGULAT­ING AND CONTROLLING THE POSTING OF RATES OF MOTELS, INNS, MOTELS, MOTOR COURTS AND BOARDING AND LODGING HOUSES WITH THE CITY OF LAS VEGAS; TO REGULATE AND CONTROL THE POSTING AND MAINTAINING OF OUTSIDE ADVERTISING SIGNS OF MOTELS, MOTOR COURTS, HOTELS, AND LIKE ESTABLISHMENTS; PROVIDING PENALTIES FOR THE VIOLATION THEREOF; AND PROVIDING OTHER MATTERS RELATED THERETO, was read to the Board as amended. Commissioner Sharp moved the above entitled Ordinance No. 748 be adopted. Motion seconded by Commissioner Whipple and carried by the following vote: Com­missioners Bunker, Fountain, Sharp, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. At this time the Commission considered the appointment of the members of the Urban Renewal Area Advisory Committee. Commissioner Fountain moved the following persons be appointed on the Urban Renewal Area Advisory Committee: Dr. Charles I. West Mr. J. David Hoggard Mr. William Bailey Mr. Henry Moore Mr. Julius Marion Rev. J. G. Gilmore Mrs. James B. McMillan Motion seconded by Commissioner Sharp and carried by the following vote: Commis­sioners Bunker, Fountain, Sharp, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. There betin no further business to come before the Board at this time, the meeting ad­journed at the hour of 9:30 P.M. Boos Planning Director Franklin J. Bills Field Engineer Kenneth Hansen Works Engineer V.B. Uehling .City Clerk Shirley Lodwick Absent: Commissioner Harris P. Sharp This being the time heretofore set for Mr. Manuel I. Garcia to appear before the Board to show cause why his Restaurant Beverage license for the El Charro Cafe, 4l6 West Bonanza should not be revoked for permitting the sale of beer to a minor and allowing employees to work in his establishment without being registered with the Police Department, His Honor asked for a report from Chief of Police Ray K. Sheffer. Chief Sheffer advised the Commission that on September 14, 1957 a twenty year old man was served beer by a waitress who was not registered with the Police Depart­ment. On September l6th Mr. Garcia was contacted by Sgt. Compton and advised of the violation. Chief Sheffer continued that on September 18th the establishment was checked and it was found that the waiter on duty was not registered, at which time he was arrested and pled guilty to the charge.
