My at tention has bean directed to the oon dltion of the malleable iron pipe, which, was recently excavated to repair leaks' therein, between the transmission main leading ?ro«i th® wells and springs and the water oran® at the west end used to fill water ears. showing the location referred to, and you will note & \ bad break in this line between the valve and transmission main would necessitate shutting off tho supply of water to the town until repairs coaid be made, as well as washing out the track in this vicinity* About five feet south of this valve box, there is another valve box: containing a gate-valve which appears to b© on the old 8*inoh wooden line, and if it la serving no purpose' it might be well to remove it at /the time the repairs are made to the m&lleeble iron line. and would- suggest'that, the 30 feat of malleable Iron line be renewed as early as practicable in order to avoid interruptior to water service.
