Report of the MLK Parade Committee for Parade held on January 13,2001
Final Report on February 10, 2001
A heartfelt thank you to all the sorors who helped on this committee. Special thanks to Soror Sandra Stewart-Bass for her wonderful efforts in designing and building the float, providing her garage when housing our float during construction and riding on the float at the Parade. Special thanks to Soror Diane Stith for building the float and riving the float to and from the Parade. Her skill shall be remembered.
Thanks goes to Soror Kaweeda Adams for participation in making the float and riding on the float during our short time on the parade route. Thanks also to Sorors Bettie Bell, Belisa Brownlee, Brenda Dumas, Josie Gaines, Jacqueline Hall, Claire Hart, Pattie Hester, Billie Rayford, and Donna Russell.
We proved that our chapter could build an entry float for the parade, unfortunately we were unable to complete the parade route. It is suggested that sorors actively participate in next year’s city-wide MLK Parade Committee.
Currently part of the float still resides in Soror Sandra’s garage. Wene-ed-to ■dceide-whether-te-keep the float-fo-use-next year or dispose of-it.
