I agree.Los Angeles - August 29, 1 9 ^ Mr. W. H. Bracken: In the matter of ohange In the booster pumps at Las Vegas, we have checked every few days with Byron-Jackson, and it in turn has checked with the factory as to when the two new motors and other parts will be shipped. Byron-Jaokson today advises it has notice from the factory that the earliest possible shipping date for the motors is November 15th from Schenectady, N. Y. Allowing 15 days enroute to Los Angeles, two days foir installing motors on bases, testing, etc., and another two days to reach Las Vegas, together with the time required for installation of the motors and runners, it appears we cannot effect this change until along about Christmas. I am very much disappointed in this, but as Byron- Jackson has exerted every effort to advance the date, bringing out the community need and the fact that Las Vegas is a Defense community, and every other available argument, it appears to be as far as we can go in the matter. It is now definite that you will have to get along without the additional boosting for the balance of the warm weather. We have requested Byron-Jaokson to keep in close touch with the situation, and if a break ocours, to advance the delivery date, but it holds no hope of securing delivery during the present warm weather.
