Brown Trust Officer, First National Bank of Nevada Las Vegas, Nevada Dear Mr, Brown: We have received your letter of May 22, 1954, In d i cating the willingness of your Bank to act as escrow agent in connection with the transfer of the water facilities of the Las Vegas Land and Water Company to the Las Vegas Valley Water D i s t r i c t . There is one matter which should be brought to your * attention before the escrow is opened. Under the provisions of the District Act and the resolution issuing bonds of the D i s trict, all deposits of District moneys in banks must be secured for the benefit of the District b y the deposit of certain securities in escrow in a bank other than the depositary. Accordingly, at such time as the moneys are paid into your Bank for the escrow, it will be necessary for yo u r Bank to secure said deposits by placing certain securities in escrow. We suggest that with respect to the arrangements to be made you contact Mr, Campbell, President of the District, and he should be able to advise you concerning the matter. In the event that you are unable to contact Mr. Campbell, we suggest that you discuss the matter with Spence Butterfield with respect to similar arrangements which have been made with the Bank of Nevada concerning the deposit of District moneys made in that Bank.
