Macguire, Chief Engineer / / Dear Sir Replying to your inquiry of tlKe 23rd inst., requesting quotation on 3200 feetx>f 16*F continuous stave redwood The present price for 16” continuous stave pipe will be #2.18 per lineal foot. This price includes cost of all of the materials delivered at Las Vegas and also the labor cost of erecting same, in"trench or on cradles or other supports supplied by you. This does not include the cost of hauling the materials from the railroad station to the location of the work, or the distribution of the same along the proposed pipe line, neither does it include the cost of trenching, backfilling or any other earth work or the cost of cradles, trestles or other special supports. In reference to delivery, we are not in a position at this time to make a definite statement. The steel mills are just commencing to operate, after having been practically closed down during the strike, and of course the first two months will be occupied in relieving the congestion due to accumulated orders. It is possible however, that they will be able to make shipment of the necessary steel bands in about 90 days from the receipt of the order by them. This however is not at all certain and because of this uncertainty, we cannot submit this price as being other than an estimating figure subject to revision in accordance with the subsequent fluctuation of the market at the time you are ready to place your order. built near Las Vegas,
