L, Arnett, in a move to clear up a misunderstanding he said existed in the minds of _the Citizens of Las Vegas regarding the 'rights1 of the city to install a competing municipal ’power firm to that of the Southern Nevada Power company, last night had excerpts from the power com­pany’s franchise, awarded m 19<2«, read by City Attorney Hyland G. Taylor, to the members of the city commission at the regular meet- The section having to do with the City’s rights in this matter ?was read and states that “the city reserves the right incident to the grantor of a municioal permit and "this permit is granted' subject ,'to: the supervisor regulation and con­trol by the public service commis­sion of the business of furnishing light, heat and power to the in­habitants of the city of Las Ve- Taylor, in explaining the rights o f the city, declared that the mu­nicipal power permit would not be subject to the supervision of the public service commission as is a private concern. j Indications were-, that the city was planning to go ahead with the plans for a municipal power sys­tem. — £........ : BmMiW I Ti orj iir ca di\ ? th< im; in* » cUt m a K ?
