At this time Acting City Manager A.H, Kennedy presented the proposal of the Civil Service Trustees regarding the one step increase for all members of the Fire Department with the exception of the secretary and the mechanic. Thereafter Commissioner Bunker moved the recommendation of the Civil Service Trustees for one step increase for all members of the Fire Department with the exception of the secretary and the mechanic, be approved. Motion seconded by Commissioner Sharp and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Jarrett, Sharp, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Acting City Manager also presented the recommendation of the Civil Service Trustees on the Traffic Bureau of the Police Department to change the classification in that department from intermediate typist clerk to intermediate Stenographer Clerk, Commissioner Bunker moved this request for change in classification be approved. Motion seconded by Commissioner Sharp and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Jarrett, Sharp, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none, Mr, Kennedy presented the request of the Lembke Construction Company for permission to move a building as tract office on the comer of Wyoming and Fairfield, Commissioner Sharp moved this request be granted so long as this building does not remain at this location longer than six months. Motion seconded by Commissioner Whipple and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Jarrett, Sharp, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. ELKS STADIUM - Use by The Acting City Manager presented the proposal of the Elks Club for the use by the City Recreation Dept, Recreation Department of the Elks Stadium for consideration by the Board, Thereafter Commissioner Whipple moved t his proposal be accepted and the Mayor and City Clerk authorized to sign same. Motion seconded by Commissioner Bunker and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Sharp, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Commissioner Jarrett passed his vote. 7-1-53
