One-Quarter (SE¼) of Section 3 a distance of 40.05 feet; thence North 87°50'18" East parallel with and distant 40 feet South at right angles to the North line of the Southeast One-Quarter (SE¼) of the Southeast One-Quarter (SE¼) of Section 3, a distance of 22.39 feet to the Northwest corner of that certain parcel of land conveyed by Jessie Hunt to the Clark County School District as described in Document No. 104137 of Book 126 of Official Re­cords, recorded April 4, 1957 in the Office of the County Re­corder of Clark County, Nevada, the TRUE POINT OF BEGINNING; thence continuing North 87°50'18" East parallel with and dis­tant 40 feet South at right angles to the aforementioned North line a distance of 471.97 feet to the Northeast corner thereof; thence continuing North 87°50'18" East parallel with said North line a distance of 18.66 feet; thence South 2°09'42" East a distance of 180.67 feet; thence North 87°50'18" East a distance of 16 feet; thence South 2°09'42" East a distance of 60 feet; thence South 87°50'18" West a distance of 16 feet; thence South 2°09'42" East a distance of 368.96 feet; thence South 87°50'18" West parallel with the said North line of the Southeast One-Quarter (SE¼) of the Southeast One-Quarter (SE¼) of Section 3, a distance of 523.05 feet to the Southwest corner of the above mentioned parcel of land conveyed by Jessie Hunt to the Clark County School District; thence North 0°55'59" East parallel with the West line of the Southeast One-Quarter (SE¼) of the Southeast One-Quarter (SE¼) of Section 3 a distance of 600.50 feet to the TRUE POINT OF BEGINNING, contain­ing 6.995 acres more or less. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City shall receive, in addition to the said land, the sum of $22,505.20 cash to be paid by the Clark County School District. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mayor be and he hereby is author­ized to execute the deed for the above described property owned by the City, granting the same to the Clark County School District upon the receipt of the said sum of $22,505.20. Motion seconded by Commissioner Whipple and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Sharp, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Absent: Commissioner Fountain. This being the time heretofore set for a public meeting on the proposed lease of property to Clark County for the Clark County Fair & Recreation Board for the construction of swimming pools, Mayor Baker explained that this property was located at the John C. Fremont School and Hyde Park areas. His Honor asked if there were any questions or objections to this lease of property. None were voiced or filed. Thereafter Commissioner Sharp moved the following resolution be adopted: RESOLUTION WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners of the City of Las Vegas has held a public hearing on the desirability of leasing certain real property owned by the City of Las Vegas to the County of Clark for use by the Clark County Fair and Recreation Board; and WHEREAS, all the requirements of Chapter 98, Laws of Nevada, 1957, have been complied with; and WHEREAS, there have been no protests, either oral or written, objecting to the City entering into a lease for ninety-nine (99) years with the County of Clark; and WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners has determined that the said land can be put to a greater public use by the County of Clark and the Clark County Fair and Recreation Board, in accordance with their powers and duties as prescribed by the law of the State of Nevada, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF LAS VEGAS that the Mayor of the City of Las Vegas be and he here­by is authorized to enter into a lease with the County of Clark for a term of ninety-nine (99) years and in accordance with all the terms and conditions contained in that certain agreement dated the 6th day of November, 1957, which has been examined and approved by all of the de­partments concerned in the City of Las Vegas. Motion seconded by Commissioner Whipple and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Sharp, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Absent: Commissioner Fountain. A public hearing having been set on the appeal of Betsy Gray on the denial of her application for variance to conduct a child care nursery at 3125 West Charleston, Mayor Baker announced that since Mrs. Gray has withdrawn her request for hearing, no action would be taken on this matter.
