I agree.i Los Angeles, July 16, 1909. Mr. H. IL Bettis, Yice-President, Las Yegas Land and Water Co., Los Angeles, Cal. Dear Sir:- Referring to Mr.Clark*s letter fourteenth instant in regard to additional lots for company houses at Las Yegas, after going over the list of unsold lots my opinion is that the most desirable ones for the purpose in question are Lots 20 to 32, inclusive, in Block 33, and Lots 20 and 21 in Block 21. My reasons for these selections are, first, I do not believe the company houses should be all in the same locality, and, second, Mr.Braoken tells me that he can rent the same class of houses on the lots above described, for at least five dollars a month each more than the houses to be built on Blocks 23 and 26. My second choice for the additional houses is Lots 7 to 14, inclusive, and 17 to 24 inclusive, Block 27. These lots as you will note are nearer Blocks 23 and 26, but the houses built on same will not rent for any more than those built on 23 and 26. For that reason I prefer the lots first described. Please give me your views on the subject in order that we may make joint recommendation to the Executive Committee. Yours very truly, (Signed) C. 0. Whittemore.
