We have described these developments as houses or housing units in view of the fact that in some instances one building will contain four dwelling units, each capable of housing a family. 4. The total number of housing units embrace9 within the foregoing is 1144. Of said total number our survey shows that 450 are now occupied, leaving 694 avail­able for future occupancy, and we are advised that as soon as City sewage facilities are available the majority of said 694 houses will be ready for occupancy. : 0', ' J,' ; - '£ 5. In addition,to these developments, 38 duplexes ? or 76 family units are being constructed just outside the city limits adjacent to the II Rancho Vegas, which will be available for rental purposes by people employed in and around Las Vegas, 6. We contend that said #94 houses and the other housing facilities now in the course of completion in and around Las Vegas, are ample to meet the present and future needs for housing facilities in Las Vegas, and in this con­nection we represents , ' ? :T ilf I 7. The demand for housing in Las Vegas has been principally caused by the activities at Basic and et the Las Vegas Gunnery School. We attach hereto a chart fur­nished by McNeil Construction Company,showing the actual num­ber of that Company^ employees between September, 1941 and March 23, 1943, and the number of employees that Company anticipates it will have employed from said last mentioned date until its construction contract is completed. This shows an anticipated decline of approximately 1000 employees per month from March 23 until «Fuly 27.
