    * On Line - September 2, 1953 Mr. Win. Reinhardt. (ee - Mr. W. H. Hulsizer) The attached dipping from Las Vegas Morning Sun, August 26, 1953, with reference to the proposed bond issue of The Las Vegas Valley Water District, contains the following statement: MCampbell said the Union Pacific Railroad was interested in buying $2£ million in water bonds, the same amount that was paid to them in the purchase of the water facilities.* In Mr. Hulsizer's letter to me of July 16, 1952, reporting result of meeting with the Water Trustees, held in your office July 11, 1952, he stated the board members asked if Union Pacific would be willing to aecept bonds as the purchase price of the property and you replied that we might be prepared to do so if they are general obligation bonds; and as you know our authorization contemplates acceptance of bonds in whole or in part if necessary to consummate the sale. Naturally we would prefer all or part cash, but in view of the statement in the attached clipping I am wondering if there has been any further discussion or indication that the Railroad would be expected to take bonds for the entire obligation. ^ > 0 A.
