AN ORDINANCE TO PROHIBIT THE MAYOR AND MEMBERS OF THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF LAS VEGAS FROM VOTING ON MATTERS IN WHICH THEY HAVE OR MAY HAVE A PECUNIARY INTEREST DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY AND PROVIDING PENALTIES THEREFOR AND OTHER MATTERS RELATING THERETO. The Board of Commissioners of the City of Las Vegas do ordain as follows: SECTION 1. No member of the Board of Commissioners of the City of Las Vegas, or the Mayor, shall vote for the granting or transfer of any license, gambling or otherwise, required by the City of Las Vegas, except renewals of licenses theretofore issued in the same form and condition as previously issued, wherein such Commissioner or Mayor or their partners, agents, servants, or employees, to the knowledge of the said Commissioner or Mayor shall be pecuniarily interested therein, directly or indirectly, or shall receive any remuneration therefrom, either by way of commission or fees for services performed, or to be performed, unless said Commissioner or the Mayor, as the case may be, shall first make a full disclosure of the nature and extent of said pecuniary interest therein to the other members voting thereon. SECTION 2. No member of the Board of Commissioners, or the Mayor, shall vote for the approval of a tentative or final subdivision map, variance, use permit, or zone change, wherein such Commissioner or the Mayor, or their partners, agents, servants or employees, to the knowledge of the said Commissioner or Mayor, shall be pecuniarily interested therein, directly or indirectly, or shall receive any remuneration or benefits therefrom, either by way of commission or fees for services performed, or to be performed, un­less said Commissioner or the Mayor, as the case may be, shall first make a full disclosure of the nature and extent of said pecuniary interest therein to the other members voting thereon. SECTION 3. Any violation of the provisions of this Ordinance shall constitute a misdemeanor and shall be punished by a fine of not more than $500.00, or by imprisonment in the City Jail for not more than six (6) months, or by both such fine and imprisonment. SECTION 4. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect upon its final- reading and adoption, and final publication as in the next section provided. SECTION 5. The City Clerk and Clerk of the Board of Commissioners of the City of Las Vegas shall cause this ordinance to be published once a week for two successive weeks immediately following its first reading and adoption, in the Las Vegas Sun, a daily newspaper published in the City of Las Vegas.
