OFFICE OF THE CITY CLERK, CITY OF LAS VEGAS, NEVADA, AUGUST 4th, 1933. Minutes of a regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners of the City of Las Vegas held on . the 4th day of August 1933 at the hour of three o'clock P.M. Roll call showed the following present, Mayor Cragin, Commissioners Mundy, German, Arnett, and Down, and City Clerk. Absent Attorney Henderson. Reports of City Clerk and Municipal Judge approved by the Mayor. Monies received for the month of July as follows: $1,767.00 Municipal Court Fines 9.80 Sale of Street Signs to J.F. Miller 40.00 Sale of old light poles to Southern Nevada Power Co; 150.00 Sale of Cemetery Lots 4,386.58 Licenses, and fees. 6,353.38 Monies proportioned as follows: $3,000.00 General Fund 3,153.58 P and F Fund. 150.00 Cemetery Fund 40.00 W.S. & L. Fund. 9.80 Street Fund 6,353.38 Total. At the direction of L.L. Arnett, Finance Commissioners the Clerk was directed to transfer from the General Fund to the Sewer Bond Inst, and Redemption Fund $2,535.06. All bills allowed as per Claims and Warrant Register on file in the office of the Clerk. On motion of Commissioner Arnett and seconded by Commissioners Down five slot machine licenses were granted to J.T. Watters, Application being in proper form and money to cover the same being on file with the City Clerk. Vote on the motion was as follows: Commissioners Mundy, German, Down and Arnett and His Honor the Mayor voting aye. Noes none. On motion of Commissioner Arnett seconded by Commissioner German, it was moved and carried that the City Clerk be instructed to write to T.A. Well, Attorney at Law, and inform him that the Board of Commissioners did not deem it advisable to amend Ordinance No. 160 of the City of Las Vegas at this time, permitting peddling at a reduced license fee for persons having a fixed place Of business in the City of Las Vegas. Vote on said motion was as follows: Commissioners Mundy, German, Arnett, Down and His Honor the Mayor voting aye. Noes none. At this time the amount of money to be borrowed from the Government under the Public Works Programme was brought before the Board for consideration. After due consideration and some dis­cussion on motion of Commissioner Arnett seconded by Commissioner German it was moved and carried that the Mayor E.W. Cragin wire Congressman J.G. Scrugham in Washington stating the amounts needed for the following improvements in the City of Las Vegas: $110,000.00 for Sewer Laterals 40,000.00 for Street Improvements 15,000.00 for Park Improvements. Vote on said motion was as follows: Commissioners Mundy, German, Arnett, Down and His Honor the Mayor voting aye. Noes none. No further business appearing before the Board at this time the meeting recessed until Friday the 18th day of August, 1933 at the hour of three o'clock P.M.
