FAGJS 8, PAK'J! 2?╟÷----?╟÷?╟÷-------* ' Milwaukee's Nile Life Chatter ?╟÷?╟÷?╟÷?╟÷ By JIM KOCONIS | Las Vegas Acts Given Rundown Michaelangelo?╟╓s Hike Mille is baok from his annual jaunt to that wide open street in Las Vegas known as the ?╟úStrip,?╟Ñ and lie?╟╓s sporting revolving dice cufflinks to prove it. I was ?╟≤ interested in a rundown of the entertainment in the plush niteries and I know many readers are equally as interested. So I got all the dope and here it is. Edgar Bergen and Mindy Carson were the attractions at the Sahara. They opened on the heels of toastmaster George Jessel. At the El Rancho Vegas the unforgettable Eartha Kitt and story teller Myron Cohen were in the spotlight. Mickey Rooney was the big gun on stage at the New Frontier. The Silver Slipper, actually a part of the Frontier, features a Par- isierine revue full of spice and glamour. This is the spot where all the entertainers on the Strip meet after xworking hours and enjoy the late show. Johnny Desmond was at the Thunderbird. At what is considered to be LV?╟╓s most popular nitery, Clarks Desert Inn, opera star Jan Peerce made his debut into the night club circuit. Backbar music is supplied by Louie Prima who starts playing at midnight and quits at 6 A. M.! Zsa Zsa Gabor was featured at the Riviera, but Mike didn?╟╓t know why. I ?╟úShe had no self-acquired talent?╟Ñ, said he. Woody Her- man alternated there with two other bands in the lounge of the Strips Skyscraper. The ballads of Peggy Lee headed up the show at the Sands, and the unexpected guest attraction was Frank Sinatra who sang for a full hour the records that made him famous. Buddy Rich was pounding the drums behind?╟ the bitr. The Flamingo Hotel featured songstress Pearl Bailey, and of all things, the Dunes had no show at all.. Just dancing to the music of Les Baxter. The latest addition to the 4 mile long ?╟úStrip?╟Ñ will be the Tropicana. It's expected to open sometime In October. Should be nice?╟÷only cost about 9 million dollars. \ Yikes!
