February 5» 195^ Mr. C. Bernard White, Jr. 2777 14th Street Sacramento 18, California Dear Mr. White: I have your letter of the 3rd advising of your talk with Pete Mitchell and your present occupation. At the present time our transactions with the Las Vegas Valley Water District, with whom we have contracted to sell the Las Vegas Land and Water Company, are completed if the Water District sells its bonds. However, I might state for your information that I am quite certain the Water District will need an engineer, and although they have in the preliminary work employed a man by the name of Montgomery who works out of Pasadena, it might be well, if you happened to be around Las Vegas at some time* to talk to Mr. Harry Miller who is Acting General Manager of the Las Vegas Valley Water District, or to Mr. Tom Campbell, President. Possibly Bob Allen, who is a Democrat, and who, in spite of that, is a very good friend of mine, and Marvin Humphreys, who is a Republican, might be able to help you. You might tell Pete for me that he doesn't do his friends any good by having them admit that they know him. Yours very truly, E. E. Bennett
