PAGE SIXTEEN 1 Prominent Young Attorneys Form Partnership in Las Vegas This week Calvin M. Cory and Oscar W. Bryan, two prominent Las Vegas attorneys, announced their partnership in the law firm of Bryan and Cory, with offices in the new Las Vegas building, 114 North Third street. Oscar Bryan was admitted to the Nevada bar in December, 1943, and has been deputy district attorney in Clark county until last week when he resigned this position to enter the partnership with Mr. Cory. After attending Las Vegas schools and the University of Nevada, Bryan entered Georgetown law school and later continued his studies at the law school of the National university. In 1942 he accepted a position as auditor in the legal department of the Basic Magnesium plant near Las Vegas. Bryan is interested in many 1 civic and fraternal organizations and was recently installed as first ji vice president of the Las Vegas Lions club. He is a member of the '.Elks lodge and a chancellor of the 'Episcopalian church for Nevada.! He also served as president of the | Nevada Alumni association and || is a member of the American and1 Nevada bar associations. The Bryans live with their two - children at Huntridge. Cal Cory, who graduated from Las Vegas schools in 1932, was admitted to the Nevada bar in 1945 after receiving his legal training at the George Washington college of law in Washington, D. C., where he graduated in l9'44, after being admitted to the bar in the District of Columbia the previous year. While studying law in Washington, Cory was legislative secretary to Nevada’s senior senator, Pat McCarran. In 1943 he was appointed counsel to the judiciary-Committee of the senate and later was a special assistant to the attorney general of the United States'. Since practicing law in Las Vegas, Cory has been appointed counsel for the Union Pacific railroad as general attorney for Nevada. He has been active in many community organizations and is holding membership in several legal and fraternal groups; He is a member of the Elks lodge, Lions club, American Bar association, Nevada Bar association and national chairman of the committee for the. revision of traffic laws for the bar association. Mr. and Mrs. Cory reside at the Mayfair district with their two children.
