    ? » Stiff Increase In City Water Rate Sought A 42 and one-half percent hike in Las Vegas water rates will be sought by the Las Vegas Land and Water company Tues­day before a hearing of the state public service commission. ( According to an exhibit filed i by the company preparatory to £ next week’s hearing, the wa-ter 1 company said the proposed rate i increase would gross the com- i pany $90,000 annually. The com- 1 pany’s gross income l a s t year * was $222,000. According to figures submat­ted for study by the commission, the increase would return the ’ company six and one-half p e r­cent on their investment in the city water system.
