\ Las Vegas - April 14, 1954 W 18-7 Mr. L. V* Peart - Omaha. Please refer to your letter of March 18, 1954, file HD 18-1, regarding the destruction of office records of the Las Vegas Land and Water Company at Las Vegas, Nevada. In this respect, please see my letter of March 17, 1954, file W 18-7, with which I furnished you in triplicate Form 40-1 dated March 17, 1954, requesting authority to destroy certain records on hand at this office. After further investigation, I find that Form 13, "Record of Room Rent Collections", original, was not included on Form 40-1. Will you kindly add this to the list, for which this record should be destroyed to December %, 1943- Further Investigation of other records revealed that we have on hand Form 26 A, "Monthly Report of Room Rent", and Form 26b , "Report of Miscellaneous Collections", for which retention period Is not shown on the list furnished with Mr. L. A. White's letter of July 8, 1947, file BD 18-1. Will you kindly advise the retention period for these two records. With respect to the fifth paragraph of your letter of March 18th, in which you draw my attention to the Agreement for sale of the Water Company to the Las Vegas Valley Water District, I feel that the records to be turned over to the District should be only current for the year in which the sale takes place in view of the fact that examination of the accounts will take place on the sale date and presumably the standing of all accounts will be accepted by the Water District. Advice concerning your thoughts on the above matter will be appreciated. L. R. Maag MED:lm
