Attest: Viola Burns Signed L.L. Arnett City Clerk Mayor. Dated August 11, 1937. Vote on the adoption of the above budget was Commissioners Krause, Marble and Ronnow, and His Honor the Mayor voting aye. Noes, none. Commissioner Perry arriving late. The plan for a purchasing organization for the City of Las Vegas to govern the purchase of all materials and supplies used by the City was discussed at this time and upon motion of Commissioner Ronnow seconded by Commissioner Marble the following resolution was adopted: RESOLVED, That the Plan for a Purchasing Organization submitted by the City Engineer and City Auditor be adopted, and the City Auditor is hereby instructed and authorized to put said plan into immediate operation, and RESOLVED, that the City Auditor be required to subscribe to the same Oath of Office that is required of other City Officials, and RESOLVED, that no item of expenditure allowed in the Amended City Budget be over-drawn under any conditions without the specific authority of the Hoard of Commissioners; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Auditor is hereby given the authority to enforce this resolution. Vote was Commissioners Krause, Marble, Perry and Ronnow and His Honor the Mayor voting aye. Noes, none. On motion of Commissioner Marble seconded by Commissioner Perry the following Resolution was introduced and passed: That the Clerk be directed to write Gilbert C. Ross State Director WPA for Nevada, and thank him for the copies of the summary covering work of the WPA on projects sponsor ed by the City of Las Vegas, and to ask Mr. Ross to kindly forward this office detailed copies of the materials furnished by the City of Las Vegas on the various projects. These projects being car­ried on under the supervision of Mr. Claude Mackey, Local Director WPA. Vote was Commissioners Krause, Marble, and Perry and Ronnow and His Honor the Mayor voting aye. Noes, none. Minutes of Meeting August 4th read and approved as read. Geo. Marshall, Attorney appeared before the Board in regard to Ralph Swigart securing a Master Electrician's license without taking the electrical examination as Mr. Swigart had been in business in Las Vegas for several months in recent years. Mr. Marshall was informed that the matter would be considered at a meeting to be held on August 12, 1937 at 3 o'clock P.M. D.G. Lorenzi appeared before the Board and ask that some action be taken in regard to the fees for swimming as the opening of a municipal swimming pool had seriously affected the bus­iness of the pools privately owned. Mr. Lorenzi was told that the Board would give the matter ser­ious consideration and assured Hr. Lorenzi that the welfare of the privately owned pools would be protected. No further business appearing before the Board at this time the meeting recessed and ad­journed until Thursday the 12th day of August 1937 at the hour of three o'clock P.M.
