.Page 41 n siU thinking of the motel industry at this time* that everybody attempt to sell his own house. Whenever you?╟╓le over on hiway 66 driving, take a look at those boards. I think you?╟╓ll like them. GENE MURPHY: Bui, if you?╟╓re going to go into an outdoor campaign and use a bulletin board in the Seattle area, I?╟╓d strongly recommend that you put all of your money into one spectacular sign and locate it as close to the Fairgrounds as you can possibly do. Maybe Foster and Kleise can get you a location, but my own feeling in the matter is that a dozen or more billboards in the Seattle area urging people to go hferae by way of Las Vegas ?╟÷ that?╟╓s a pretty remote point. GEORGE ALBRIGHT: Well, we?╟╓re not talking about a dozen of these, we?╟╓re talking about probably fifty in that area. :,GEN| MURPHY: I still think that one spectacular board maybe designed by tfoung Electric Sign Co. A neon board with motion -- put something on it ?╟÷ a big clock ?╟÷ *how is the time to visit Las Vegas" or something of that nature ?╟÷ that will be talked about and looked at ?╟÷ a super- spectacular Broadway type of neon board is much better than the painted bulletins which you are discussing. HARVEY DIEDERICHi How much time do we have on this proposition* does anybody know? GENE MURPHY: Well, the Fair opens on the 21st of April, I think. Runs six months. HANK KOVELL: Jack Lehman, didn?╟╓t he only ask for $5*000? GENE MURPHY* Well* they asked for a total of $13,000 of which $5,000 Would come from this area. If you were going to use that Boulder Dam model exhibit would the State of Nevada give us any money to help? HARVEY DIEDERICH: I notice the fact that, must have been several years ago* they came up with $42,000 for another World?╟╓s Fair. GEORGE ALBRIGHT: They were able though, thru the legislature. HARVEY DIEDERICHi I?╟╓m not thinking about this specific point, but I think it?╟╓s something to think about in the future, if back in those days they were able to come up with $42,000, maybe our promotion fund has a possibility. HANK KOVELL: My recommendation at this Fair is that it should be IN Fair : on the Fairgrounds ?╟÷ people go from both to booth. HANK KOVELL: Of course, that?╟╓s another time problem ?╟÷ how much time do we have to buy a booth. What I was going to do, is, Gene, have you ask Rick to write and submit a proposal on this think * have Rick investigate this Boulder Dam model. GENE MURPHY: The Hoover Dam model sounds good. It probably would be less expensive, but once again, try and find a proper location for it on the Fairgrounds. This is hard to say ?╟÷ I don?╟╓t know whether the space is all gone or not. How much space does it take, Bud?
