MUSIC BEAT Former vamp Marilyn Kaye now a ?╟úHitz?╟Ñ in family show Auburn beauty turned bouse hunt into job f ealizingthe smog and traffic of L.A. wasn?╟╓t for her anymore, Marilyn Kaye packed her suitcase and headed for Las Vegas, ?╟úl had been in a?╟╓50s rock show which played on the strip and I fell in love with the city,?╟Ñ says Kaye who later went to Atlantic City with that show. ?╟úI decided that when I could stop travelling, I would really like to relocate here.?╟Ñ It was on a house hunting trip to Las Vegas in July that she heard of the new Jerry Jackson pro- HITZ ?╟÷ As the female lead singer in the ?╟úHitz?╟Ñ show, Marilyn covers a variety of popular tunes. duction, ?╟úHitz.?╟Ñ ?╟úI took my ?╟ emergency?╟╓ dress, the kind that never needs ironing, out of the trunk of my car and went to the audition.?╟Ñ Lucky she did, because she got the lead female singing part and found a house as well. Playing the high school vamp ?╟úMolly?╟Ñ in ?╟úA.M. ?╟÷ A Blast from the Past,?╟Ñ won her the Best Performance Award from famous casting newspaper Drama-logue in 1986. ?╟úI got to do everything I love to do in that show, sing, dance and act,?╟Ñ she says. ?╟úIt was a comedic role, and I learned what fun it is to make people laugh.?╟Ñ Mostly what Kaye has done in the past is sing. She sang and danced in the recent television special * ?╟ The Slammy Awards?╟Ñ and is again singing in the sizzling musical fantasy, ?╟úHitz?╟Ñ at the Hacienda Hotei. Her new role finds her singing some of the ?╟╓60s songs she used to sing in her previous role, and even a few ?╟╓40s hits. But mostly, it is the lyrics of today?╟╓s most popular tunes that audiences hear from this striking auburn beauty. Kaye is thrilled to be working with producer Jerry Jackson, ?╟úHe has exquisite taste,?╟Ñ she says of the show?╟╓s costumes and stage designs.
