Los Angeles, October 16, 1934. Mr. Leo A. McNamee: You probably are aware of the fact that there is some talk of the City of Las Vegas or some private citizens attempting to acquire the water system of the Las Vegas Land and Water Company, possibly with the assistance of a federal loan. Will you kindly advise whether under the laws of Nevada there are any provisions for either a group of citizens or a municipality so acquiring the properties of a public utility, or whether there are any conditions in any franchise the Water Company may have which require it to dispose of its properties to the City of Las Vegas upon a reasonable price. E. E. Bennett. EEB:S
