    ASSESSMENT DISTRICT 100-25 Modification of Engineering Agreement RECREATION CENTER USE Southern Nevada Home Builders PLUMBING CODE ORDINANCE NO. 637 PROPOSED ORDINANCE Liquor PLANNING COMMISSION FEES ORDINANCE NO. 638 PROPOSED ORDINANCE Electrical Code Amend. LIQUOR APPLICATION Duffy's Tavern Change of Owner Consideration was given to the modification of the proposed supplement between the City and Silas Mason Company, now known as Mason & Hanger-Silas Mason Company for engineering services on Assessment District No. 100-25. Commissioner Whipple moved that this modification of the proposed supplement between the City and Silas Mason Company be approved. Motion seconded by Commissioner Sharp and carried by the following vote: Commissioner Bunker, Jarrett, Sharp, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. At this time a request was made to use the Recreation Center Auditorium by the Southern Nevada Home Builders for May 26, 27, 28, and 29 for the Home Show. It was the opinion of the Board that a bond should be put up to cover any damage to the Auditorium. Commissioner Whipple moved that this request be approved subject to the securing of a bond by the Southern Nevada Heme Builders. Motion seconded by Commissioner Sharp and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Jarrett, Sharp, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. At this time Commissioners Sharp and Whipple, committee for recommendation on the proposed plumbing code amendment, reported favorably on this amendment. Thereafter an ordinance entitled AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND SECTION 406 OF ORDINANCE NO. 520, ALSO KNOWN AS THE UNIFORM PLUMBING CODE, 1952 EDITION, BY PROVIDING FOR CLEAN OUT VALVES AND THEIR LOCATION; PROVIDING FOR OTHER MATTERS PROPERLY RELATED THERETO; PROVIDING PENALTIES FOR THE VIOLATION THEREOF; AND REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT THEREWITH was read in full to the Board. Commissioner Whipple moved that the above entitled Ordinance No. 637 be adopted. Motion seconded by Commissioner Sharp and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Jarrett, Sharp, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Commissioners Jarrett and Whipple, committee for recommendation on the proposed liquor ordinance, requested additional time before reporting. At this time Commissioners Bunker and Whipple, committee for recommendation on the proposed amendment to the Planning Commission Ordinance, reported favorably on this amendment. Thereafter an ordinance entitled AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND CHAPTER 24, CODE OF LAS VEGAS, NEVADA, 1949, ALSO KNOWN AS ORDINANCE NO. 378, BY PROVIDING A NEW SCHEDULE OF FEES FOR APPLICATION FOR ZONE RECLASSIFICATIONS, VARIANCES, AND USE PERMITS; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT THEREWITH, AND PROVIDING OTHER MATTERS PROPERLY RELATED THERETO was read in full to the Board. Commissioner Bunker moved that the above entitled Ordinance No. 638 be adopted. Motion seconded by Commissioner Whipple and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Jarrett, Sharp, Whipple, and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. A proposed amendment to the electrical code ordinance entitled AN ORDINANCE TO SUPPLEMENT AND AMPLIFY ORDINANCE NO. 610 ENTITLED AN ORDINANCE TO SAFEGUARD LIFE AND PROPERTY BY REGULATING AND PROVIDING FOR THE INSPECTION OF ELECTRIC WIRING, DEVICES, APPLIANCES, AND EQUIPMENT; CREATING THE OFFICE OF ELECTRICAL INSPECTOR AND PRESCRIBING HIS AUTHORITY AND DUTIES: REQUIRING THAT NO ELECTRIC EQUIPMENT SHALL BE INSTALLED WITHOUT FIRST SECURING A PERMIT THEREFOR; ADOPTING BY REFERENCE THE 1953 NATIONAL ELECTRIC CODE; CREATING A BOARD OF ELECTRICAL EXAMINERS; PROVIDING FOR THE LICENSING OF PERSONS; FIRMS AND CORPORATIONS ENGAGING IN THE BUSINESS OF ELECTRICAL CONTRACTING OR EMPLOYING ELECTRICIANS TO OBTAIN ELECTRICAL WORK; MAKING IT UNLAWFUL TO ENGAGE IN THE BUSINESS OF ELECTRICAL CONTRACTING OR TO UNDERTAKE THE EXECUTION OF ELECTRICAL WORK WITHOUT A LICENSE, EXCEPT AS OTHERWISE PROVIDED; MAKING IT UNLAWFUL TO SELL AT RETAIL CERTAIN ELECTRICAL PRODUCTS UNLESS SUCH PRODUCTS HAVE BEEN APPROVED BY THE ELECTRICAL INSPECTOR AND NATIONAL BOARD OF UNDERWRITERS, PROVIDING PENALTIES FOR THE VIOLATION THEREOF AND REPEALING ORDINANCE NUMBER 306 AND ALL ORDINANCES AND PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT THEREWITH; AND PROVIDING OTHER MATTERS PROPER­LY RELATED THERETO, "BY ESTABLISHING STANDARDS FOR THE INSTALLATION OF ELECTRICAL EQUIP­MENT AND WIRING WITHIN THE CITY OF LAS VEGAS; PROVIDING OTHER MATTERS PROPERLY RELATED THERETO; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND PROVIDING PENALTIES FOR VIOLATION, was read by title and referred to Commissioners Sharp and Bunker for recommendation. Commissioner Bunker moved that the request of Mr. Stanley Resler for deletion of his name from the license of Duffy's Tavern at 1815 South 5th Street, formerly issued to Joe Schramm and Stanley P. Resler, be approved and issued to Mr. Schramm. Motion seconded by Commissioner Sharp and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Jarrett, Sharp, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. 3-16-55
