Motion seconded by Commissioner Jarrett and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Jarrett, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none Absent: Commissioner Sharp. Commissioner Jarrett moved that Bid No. 54.4 for the furnishing of batteries be awarded to Nevada Battery Company, as recommended by the City Manager. Motion seconded by Commissioner Bunker and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Jarrett, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Absent: Commissioner Sharp/ Commissioner Bunker moved the following applications for renewal of gaming licenses for the second quarter of 1954 be approved in the same status that they were last quarter: (SEE ATTACHED LIST) Motion seconded by Commissioner Whipple and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Jarrett, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Absent: Commissioner Sharp. Commissioner Bunker moved the application of Henry C. Remolif for a race horse book and sports book license at the Saratoga Race Book, 114 South 1st Street for the second quarter of 1954 be approved subject to a favorable report from the Police Department. Motion seconded by Commissioner Whipple and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Jarrett, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Absent: Commissioner Sharp. Commissioner Whipple moved the application of P.J. and John Buckley for license for one slot machine at the Elwell Hotel, 1st and Carson for the second quarter of 1954 be approved. Motion seconded by Commissioner Bunker and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Jarrett, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Absent: Commissioner Sharp. Commissioner Jarrett moved the following change of applicant for gaming licenses for the second quarter of 1954 be approved: Estate of L. P. Absent: Commissioner Sharp. Commissioner Jarrett moved the application of Willie Robertson, Chicadee Arcade, 1314 F Street for a Tavern license, being the deletion of James Tatum, be approved. Motion seconded by Commissioner Whipple and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Jarrett, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Absent: Commissioner Sharp. Commissioner Whipple moved the Electrical Inspector be allowed to attent a convention in Winnemucca on April 24, 1954, and that expenses be paid by the City. Motion seconded by Commissioner Jarrett and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Jarrett, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Absent: Commissioner Sharp. City Manager George Rounthwaite asked approval of expenses for Professor Breazeale who came here to give the Police Department instruction in the use of the drunk-o-meter. The expenses were $300, plus hotel and round trip ticket. Commissioner Bunker moved this expense be approved. Motion seconded by Commissioner Whipple and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Jarrett, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Absent: Commissioner Sharp.
