    July 38, 1954 Hon, Hugh A* Shamberger State Engineer Careen City, Nevada Dear Hugh; Supplementing our teXephon© conversation concerning a' new stand-by shop well for the railroad In Las Vegas, Nevada, I transmit herewith an application for permission to change the point of diversion of 1,40 c.f.s* from the new point of diversion authorised by Serial No# 15140, to the new point of diversion described in the enclosed application* As you know, all of the water covered by both Serial No* 15140 and the enclosed application as it may affect said Serial No# 15140, was heretofore appropriated under Permit No. 7300* Serial No* 15140 authorised a change in the point of diversion of such water to the existing shop well in the railroad yards, and the enclosed application merely changes the point of diversion of a portion of such water to a new shop well to he drilled in the railroad yards for the purpose of assuring an adequate supply of water at all times for railroad and domestic uses* It is my understanding from our telephone conversation that when the enclosed application is approved and the well drilled to permit the appropriation of v & t & r a t t h e new point of diversion, we will then submit Proof of B«iofieial Use as to 1*1 c.f.s* of water in the location described in Serial No. 15140 and 1*40 c.f.s# of water at the location described in the enclosed application# I hop© I correctly understood the procedure outlined by you and that the enclosed application is in accordance with such procedure.
