Referring to the water situation at Las Vegas, regarding which a city ordinance was passed to assist in conserving the water supply and prevent waste. Regular daily measurements whieh we have been making at the reservoir develops an abnormal amount of water is being drawn from the reserve, particularly during the past two or three days; the measurements yesterday and today are as follows: June 20th, 11:00AM - 4 ft. 6 in. June 21st, 9:30AM - 4 ft. 8 in. She Big Spring and Well are producing their normal flow of water, all of which is being turned in to the City mains, and this supply is being augmented with over one million gallons per day from the pump in the Railroad Yards. Commencing tomorrow morning, we are putting on a regular full-time employe to assist the city in enforc­ing the ordinance whieh prohibits useless waste of water, and will you please have him regularly deputized when he presents himself, This checker will canvass the town to check up waste of water, and we will appreciate your ass­istance to conserve the supply of water for the common good.
