The following description covers dress worn at the University of Nevada.
    ThreJdifferent^types of black gowns mtzy be distinguished; in the academic procession. The bachelors gowns have itong pointed jgleeveS, the mas®rs gowns hawe oblong sleeves with an arc cut away in f|hg front. The doetor^-Jgowns arelfaced with velvet and have bell-shaped sleeves with three bars of Melvet.
    The Oxford Map DthMso-called mortarboard, is black and has^H long Bassel!) fastened |tep the middle the top thaM is usually worn pendent oveD the left fronM of the cap. At many institutions colored t,assels a^AdOlW indicate I the Candidate ' s school (HBlpllege., Here, at the University of Nevada the black tassel is worn on the cap for all bachelor degrees.

    Nevada Medallion Award
    101 State of Nevada Centennial Medallions have been made available to Nevada Southern. A medallion will be presented each year to the graduating senior holding the highest four-year scholastic record earned at Nevada Southern. The first medallion was presented June 3, 1964, to a senior of the first graduating class. The last medallion will be presented in 2064 to a senior of Nevada Southern's Centennial graduating class in the year of the State's bicentennial.
    Theymedallions were made available by the Rotary Club of Las Vegas.
