Application for permit to use the streets and alleys of the City of Las Vegas for water mains and pipe lines. 11-11-29 APPLICATION FOR PERMIT TO USE THE STREETS AND ALLEYS OF THE CITY OF LAS VEGAS FOR WATER MAINS AND PIPE LINES. TO THE HONORABLE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF LAS VEGAS, COUNTY OF CLARK, STATE OF NEVADA: The undersigned, LAS VEGAS LAND AND WATER COMPANY, a corporation of the State of Nevada, petitions your Honorable Board for a permit to use the streets, alleys and highways of the City of Las Vegas, in the County of Clark, State of Nevada, for the purpose of laying, constructing, operating and maintaining water mains, water pipe lines and laterals to supply the City of Las Vegas with water. The undersigned now has a franchise granted to it by the Board of County Commissioners of Clark County, Nevada, on the 2nd day of November, 1909, to lay, install, maintain and operate in the unincorporated town of Las Vegas, Clark County, Nevada, and in the streets and alleys thereof, a system of water works, and to make extensions thereto from time to time for the purpose of furnishing said unincorporated town and the inhabitants thereof with water, which franchise covers the avenues, streets and alleys in Clark's Las Vegas Townsite, as per map thereof on file and of record in the office of the County Recorder of Clark County, Nevada, and which franchise by the terms thereof expires on the 2nd day of November, 1934. That the undersigned also has a permit from your board, dated September 2, 1927, to use the streets and alleys of the Original Townsite of Las Vegas, located within said City of Las Vegas, for the purpose of laying water mains and laterals to supply the inhabitants of said Original Townsite with water. The undersigned also has a permit to use the streets and alleys in South Addition to the said City of Las Vegas for said purposes, which permit was originally granted by your Board to Hawkins Land & Water Co., and thereafter, with the approval of your Board, assigned to said Las Vegas Land and Water Company. The undersigned also has a permit to use the streets and alleys of Hawkins Addition to the said City of Las Vegas, Clark County, Nevada, for said purposes, which permit was originally granted to W. E. Hawkins, and with the consent of your Board assigned to Hawkins Land & Water Co., and was, with the consent of your Board, assigned to Las Vegas Land and Water Company. The undersigned also has a permit to use the streets and alleys of Buck's Subdivision to the said City of Las Vegas, Clark County, Nevada, for said purposes, which permit was originally granted to S. W. Craner, and thereafter, with the consent of your Board, assigned to Las Vegas Land and Water Company. The undersigned is now serving a portion of Fairview Tract to the said City of Las Vegas, and a portion of Pioneer Heights Addition to the said City of Las Vegas, and has no permit to use the streets and alleys in said last mentioned tracts and subdivisions. - 2 - That the undersigned desires the permit herein applied for to inure to its benefit for a period of fifty years from and after the date thereof, and to cover all of the streets, alleys and avenues in the said City of Las Vegas, County of Clark, State of Nevada, now laid out, created or dedicated, or which may hereafter be laid out, created or dedicated, and if said permit is granted this applicant will, within such time or times as may be specified by your Board, file a map or maps showing the streets, alleys, avenues and highways along or under which it has heretofore installed, and does now maintain, water pipe lines and laterals, and the location and position of all of the streets, alleys, avenues and highways in said City of Las Vegas along or under which it intends to lay, construct, operate and maintain water mains, water pipe lines and laterals. It is the intention of the undersigned to incorporate all of the permits and franchises it now holds into the one permit herein applied for. Dated this 23rd day of November, 1929.
