Twain Las Vegas, Nevada 89109 Re: Endowment Fund Dear Norm, i Jewish Family Service Agency during its ten years of existence has never had a brochure describing the agency?s services. The agency has focused all its resources on providing direct service to the community, In the last five years there was even the question of the agency's survival, Now after serving all groups within the community, we recognize the need for a brochure. The agency?s recognition factor still needs development, and we must have better communication with the community. Now that the Jewish Community has grown to between twenty - thirty thousand (20- 30,000) individuals, the need for such a brochure has become Self-evident. I have attached the JFSA material which we distribute to the community as a brochure. As you can see, it is cumbersome; people are unlikely to read such extensive material. This inhibits the community's use and knowledge of our services. We are one of Las Vegas' best kept secrets. Therefore, the Board of Jewish Family Service Agency is requesting a grant of $5,000 to develop, print, and distribute a professional brochure about JFSA. Such a brochure will be a benefit to the agency and the community. The Jewish Federation is focusing on community events to build a cohesiveness and sense of caring in the Jewish community. It is important to have the increased visability of Jewish Family Service Agency strengthen the awareness of the community about local services and the value of local giving. Las Vegas is rapidly becoming a retirement community of choice. Numerous new retirement complexes such as Sumerlin, are being built. People from California, Jtew^York, Chicago, etc, walk in to the agency and want to know about our services We have nothing to showHHTgm-1 What dues une say to these uncomprehending looks? Jewish Family Service Agency has been unable to meet the need in its budget due to funding limitations. We would distribute a brochure at local temples, the Jewish student-union, Israeli Independence Day, Shalom Wagon, Super Sunday, etc. 6' A B?n?ficfory Agency ef Jewish Federation if l??
