Danny Thomas was the first star to open the Sands in December of 1952, and started off a long parade of top names in Entratter productions to make the Sands the most important "entertainment showplace in the world. Danny has a standing commitment to help celebrate every Sands anniversary with a personal appearance, as long as he is active in show business. Nat Cole is the current star at the Sands, finishing up a record-breaking 4-week engagement to mark the seventh time he has appeared at the Sands in the past 3 years. Ringsiding for the special midnight show will be many Hollywood celebrities, including Gary Cooper, Rita Hayworth, Richard Conte, and producer William Goetz, -more-
