PROPOSED ORDINANCE Firearms PROPOSED ORDINANCE Rezoning CITY APPRAISER A Street Condemnation GAMING APPLICATION Eldorado Arcade PLUMBERS CERTIFICATION Larry Garrity BUSINESS LICENSE RENEWAL Condemened Building Thereafter Commissioner Bunker recommended this proposed ordinance unfavorably and requested that it be taken off the agenda until further notice. Motion seconded by Commissioner Sharp and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Jarrett, Sharp and Whipple voting aye; noes, Mayor Baker. Commissioners Bunker and Jarrett, committee for recommendation on the proposed ordinance to prohibit and regulate the sale of firearms, requested additional time before reporting, until additional information has been received from the Grand Jury on this matter. An ordinance entitled: AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND SECTION IV OF ORDINANCE NO. 3 7 8 , REFERRED TO AS SECTION 10, CHAPTER 24, OF THE LAS VEGAS CITY CODE, 1949, BY AMENDING THE LAND USE PLAN MAP ADOPTED BY THE CITY OF LAS VEGAS, AND CHANGING THE ZONE DESIGNATION OF CERTAIN AREAS ON THE SAID MAP, was read by title and referred to Commissioners Jarrett and Whipple for recommendation. The request of the City Attorney that the Board appoint an Appraiser for the "A" Street condemnation was presented at this time. Commissioner Jarrett moved that the City Manager ask Thomas A. Campbell to serve on behalf of the City as appraiser in this matter. Motion seconded by Commissioner Sharp and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Jarrett, Sharp, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Commissioner Jarrett moved the application of Russell Lewis for license for 20 slot machines for the fourth quarter of 1953 at the Eldorado Arcade, 4 Fremont formerly known as the Overland Arcade, be approved subject to his receiving a favorable report from the Police Department, and that Mr. Lewis not be allowed to open until this report has been received. Motion seconded by Commissioner Bunker and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Jarrett, Sharp, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Mr. John Mendoza, representing Mr. Larry Garrity applicant for certification as a Master Plumber, appeared before the Board at this time. Mr. Mendoza explained that Mr. Garrity had taken an examination recently, but there was some question as to the grade he had received. Discussion was held. Thereafter Commissioner Jarrett moved this matter be referred to the Board of Appeals for study and report back to the Board of Commissioners. Motion seconded by Commissioner Whipple and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Jarrett, Sharp, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. The application of H. W. Parker, Palace Realty Company, at 122 North 3rd Street for renewal of his real estate license, was presented for consideration. Commissioner Jarrett moved Mr. Parker's application for renewal of license for the fourth quarter of 1953 he approved at this location only until December 31, 1953. Motion seconded by Commissioner Sharp and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Jarrett, Sharp, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, None. There being no further business to come before the Board at this time, Commissioner Sharp moved this meeting adjourn.
