W ith slight variations, the maintenance and operation charge, take-off to Las V egas (Item 4 ), should remain fairly uniform from year to year. H ow ever, the B M I service charge (Item 2 ) and the pow er costs (Item 3) m ay fluctuate from year to year. U nder the 1952 agreem ent the B M I service charge (based upon a unit cost per m illion gallons) w ill vary depending on the relative quantities of w ater delivered to B M I and to the D istrict in a particular year. U nit pow er costs will vary, being low er in years o f small w ater deliveries and greater in years of large water deliveries by reason o f the increased pum ping head. O n the basis o f the preceding table* the total production and transm ission costs of Lake M ead water w ill vary betw een approxim ately $41 and $50 per m illion gallons. T h e similar cost o f w ell w ater is estim ated at $15 per m g. W ith distribution costs at $20 per m g, the total production, transm ission and distribution costs (exclusive of bond principal and interest) are $35 for w ell w ater and $61 to $70 for Lake M ead water. Annual costs per m illion gallons for p aym ent-of bond principal and interest (estim ated at 4$4% ) are expected to vary from approxim ately $70 during the early years o f the issue to approxim ately $38 in the late years.
