I agree.JOHN DECAROLIS YORK alkti JWaciaium NASSAU COUNTY RALPH GIAMBRUNO 1 ST VICE-PRESIDENT PRESIDENT PHYLLIS GRIMM RECORDING SECRETARY CLARENCE PETTUS 2 ND VICE-PRESIDENT JAMES MCGUIRE TREASURER EUGENE WILLIAMS FINANCIAL SECRETARY RICHARD POLITANO SERGEANT-AT-ARMS October 1, 1969 Dear Sir: This letter will take only a few minutes of your time to read. Please read it, and I feel sure, that you will agree with us, that time and a little consideration will bring much happiness to men who think they have been forgotten. Several months ago we started a project, that brought us to the Veteran's Hospitals. During our mission, we found many World War 2 veterans, who have no families or f??iends(so to speak). We are now their friends, because fae brought them some happi- ness. We brought them records, books, and games to pass their time. There are over a few hundred veterans confined to these hospitals. In our efforts to continue bringing them some gifts and keeping costs down, we are reaching out for help in our next "project". This is where we need your help. We have been told, that when your hotel is finished with the used cagrds, you discard them. Well, this is all we want, decks of cards you have no further use for. Our veterans have too much time on their hands, and playing cards has become a very important part of their lives. Do you think you can help us out in this ?? As you can see, it is for a very worthwhile cause. Could we let these men down ?? These veterans, who were not so fortunate to come home and live a normal life? We will be awaiting a favorable reply. Very truly yours, Bill Dorsa Committee Chairman Please address reply to: Sheriff's Office Benevolent Association Nassau County Jail - Carman Avenue East Meadow, New York / 4M/o f
