Jean Carroll, who is one of the most photographed showgirls in the world, was surprised by our cameraman at the buffet table of the back-stage champagne party for the cast of "Pzazz '68" which toasted the musical spectacular's 500th performance Since its black tie debut on September 28, accented with all the glitter of a true Hollywood premiere, the musical spectacular has played to more than a quarter million people. In its salute to the great motion pictures and their stars, the revue generates all the excitement and glamour that made Hollywood famous. Critics are unanimous that "nothing has been overlooked in the Frank Sennes-Donn Arden production to dazzle audiences!" "Tom Jones" which is the first Actor's Equity production to ever play in a hotel lounge, celebrated its 300th performance at an informal afternoon reception at the home of producer Bob Sadoff (right) who expects to bring an expanded version of the smash hit to Broadway this winter. The 50 minute romp closely adheres to the story line of Henry Fielding's lusty 18th century novel. In il PARTY TIME Mk The conjurer's rabbit is dead ?╟÷ murdered by a Polish born wizard with a name like a Chinese parlor game. Chan Canasta is the killer's name. And he introduced a new policy of electrifying afternoon entertainment in the Lady Luck Lounge of the Desert Inn. Canasta has mesmerized audiences in the millions with feats that baffled not only exepert magicians but learned members of academic societies. Wherever he appeared on stage or network television in Europe, he created an aurora of magic with his dramatic demonstrations to prove that the impossible is only a little more difficult to achieve than the improbable. As a result of his many "experiments," as he refers to his most unusual act, 2:00 and 4:00 p.m. daily, except Monday, Canasta has gained a vast amount of knowledge about the psychology of choice. The influences that prompt a person to make a certain choice under a given set of circumstances is often the name of the game in Las Vegas. Maybe it will even work in black jack? beaaty contestants The most beautiful girls on the Las Vegas Strip will compete for the coveted title of "Miss Showgirl International of 1969" at a beauty pageant that will be held at the Desert Inn during late July. The show will be telecast in Los Angeles and many other cities and will provide an added dimension to the many facets of entertainment offered to Desert Inn guests. In "training" for the pageant, many of the contestants have been gaining a suntan at the Dl pool. Jy -^MWm m^ymsm^yy.
