Squires, being first duly sworn, deposes and says: That he is publisher of the Las Vegas Age, a daily newspaper of general circulation, printed and published at Las Vegas, in the County of Clark, State of Nevada, and that the attached Ordinance No. 169 of the City of Las Vegas was published in said newspaper for a period of one week, from June 5, 1931 to June 11, 1931 inclusive, being the issues of said newspaper for the following dates, to-wit: June 5, 6, 7, 9, 10, 11, 1931 That said newspaper was regularly issued and circulated on each of the above named dates. That the charge for publishing the same was $50.15. Signed C. P. Squires Subscribed and sworn to before me this 2nd day of July 1931. C. D. Breeze Notary Public in and for Clark County, Nevada. ORDINANCE NO. 170 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF LAS VEGAS, REGULATING TRAVEL AND TRAFFIC UPON THE PUBLIC STREETS; ESTABLISHING A CENTRAL TRAFFIC DISTRICT; AND PROVIDING A PENALTY FOR THE BREACH OF ANY OF THE RULES OR REGULATIONS REGARDING TRAFFIC IN THIS ORDINANCE PROVIDED, AND REPEALING ORDINANCES Nos. 66,-68,-69,-86,-90,-94,-120,-124,-125,-127,-141, and 143 OF THE CITY OF LAS VEGAS, AND ALL ORDINANCES AND PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH. THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF LAS VEGAS DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: ARTICLE 1. DEFINITION. Section 1. Whenever in this Ordinance the following terms are used, they shall be deemed and construed to have the meaning ascribed to them in this section: STREET: Any place commonly used for the purpose of public travel, excepting alley ways. ROADWAY: That portion of a street between the regularly established curb lines. INTERSECTIONS: The area embraced within the prolongation of the property lines of two or more streets which join at an angle whether or not one such street crosses another. CROSS WALK: That portion of the roadway included within the prolongation of sidewalk lines at street intersections, and such other places as may be designated by boundary lines upon the surface of the roadway. SAFETY ZONE: That portion of a roadway reserved for the exclusive use of pedestrians. LOADING ZONE: That portion adjacent to a curb reserved for the exclusive use of vehicles actually engaged in the loading or unloading of passengers or materials. VEHICLE: Any device other than a street car, upon or by which any person or material may be transported upon a street, STREET CAR: Any device travelling exclusively upon rails. PEDESTRIAN: Any person afoot. OPERATOR: Any person who is in actual physical control of a vehicle or a street car. CENTRAL TRAFFIC DISTRICT: All streets included within that portion of the City of Las Vegas hereinafter specified shall be in the Central Traffic District, to-wit: Stewart Street from the East line of Main Street to the East line of Sixth Street. Ogden Street from the East line of Main Street to the East line of Fifth Street. Carson Street from the East line of Main Street to the East line of Fifth Street. Fremont Street from the East line of Main Street to the East line of Twelfth Street. Main Street from the South line of Stewart Street to the South line of Garces Street. Fifth Street from the South line of Stewart Street to the South line of Charleston Boulevard.
