    Mr. Wm. Reinhardt: (co: Mr. Oscar W. Bryan - Las Vegas Mr. A.M. Folger 9 " ) Referring to question as to exi sting Slaws in the City of Las Vegas to prevent waste of water. Section 5 of Chapter 32 of the Las Vegas City Code reads in part as follows: "Mo person owning or controlling any hose, water pipe, ditch, lawn sprinkling system, canal, flume or waterway shall allow or permit water from the same or any part thereof to flow over or into any side­walk, street, alley or public place; pro­vided, that nothing herein shall be so con­strued as to prevent the wetting of any sidewalk, alley, street or public place for the purpose of cleaning the same or allaying the dust thereon. * * (Page 524) The following provisions are found in Chapter 37 of the same Code (Page 644). "See. 4. Waste of water— Prohibited. "Waste of water in the eity is hereby prohibited and declared unlawful. (Ord. No. 274. Sec. 1).» "Sec. 5. Same - Acts constituting. "Any one of the following acts shall con­stitute waste of water, as the term is used in this chapter: "(a) Leaking taps, hydrants, etc. Permitting a hydrant, tap, cock or valve con­nected with any water system belonging to any public utility, to leak onto the ground or into any sink, bowl, toilet or tub connected H j 4 1S50 APR' 4 1950
