I agree.THE AMERICAN JEWISH COMMITTEE WASHINGTON REPRESENTATIVE ? 2027 Massachusetts Avenue, N.W. ? Washington, D.C. 20036 ? (202) 265-2000 April 28, 1986 Senator Chic Hecht 302 Hart Office Bldg. Washington, DC Dear Senator: 20510 A few days ago you received an invitation from American Jewish Committee President Howard Friedman to a reception in honor of the Congress to be held on the eve of our 80th Anniversary Celebration here in Washington. (May 14, 5:30 to 7 p.m., in the Senate Caucus Room.) This is a personal request from me to express the hope that you can indeed drop by. Vou are one of my very favorite people in the Congress ? and I would like to have the opportunity to say "thank-you" on the occasion of what will be the last such event for me. Yes, I will be leaving my present position with AJC later this year ? though not really retiring from the issues and concerns with which I have been involved. The reception will be the occasion for a public announcement of my "retirement." It would be most gratifying to me if you could come by. Sincerely, Hyman Bookbinder Washington Representative HB :dw
