I CD^xxm^rxmg 3®tIItmvt A. (&laxh %tvl l^xz&iitexxi JK LbsAngeles, Calif. June 17th, 19E1 Mr. J. Ross Clark, Los Angeles, California. Lear Sir,- I received yours of the 161 1l relating to the drilling of the well at Las Vegas in order to provide additional supply for emergency use, and note that the expense chargeable to capital account was estimated at f6861. I note the contractor is now down about 570 feet where he encountered boulders, which makes it more expensive, end they now estimate it will require an additional appropriation of approximately |2100. You have my authority to proceed on these lines. I presume Mr. Lovett will reply directly, or did you expect-me to refer the matter to him. Yours sincerely.
