    SECTION 2. All pavement replacement will be completed by the Department of Public Works, unless spec­ial permission is given by said department for completion of the street surface restoration. SECTION 3. All excavations must be made and completed in accordance with the Code of Standard Spec­ifications for Public Improvements (Ordinance 621). All pavement cuts shall be outlined with vertical edges. Backfill shall be completed by mechanical compaction, with 90% density. All trenches shall be made safe for traffic at the completion of backfill. SECTION 4. A charge shall be made for each permit and for the restoration of streets, alleys, public ways, and easements in accordance with city specifications for sewer, water, gas or other public utility excavations consistent with the type of pavement in existence at the time of the street cut and setting forth the schedule graded on the size of the cut, and with a minimum cost for each permit. The schedule of charges are as follows: OIL AND ROCK SURFACING MINIMUM CHARGE - $10.00 per cut One 0-30 S.F. 10-100 S.F. 100-500 S.F. 500 8s over S.F. One Course Min. charge 0.30 0.25 0.20 Two Course Min. charge 0.35 0.30 0.35 ROCK SURFACING MINIMUM CHARGE - $5.00 per cut 0-100 S.F. 100-500 S.F. Over 500 S.F. Single Course 1.25 0.20 0.15 ASPHALT SURFACING MINIMUM CHARGE - $15.00 per patch 0-100 S.F. 100-500 S.F. Over 500 S.F. Permits will be issued on Mondays and Wednesdays of each week between the hours of 9.00 A.M. and 5.00 P.M. and at such other times as may be designated by the Director of Public Works. SECTION 6. Any person performing work except as herein provided without first securing a permit, or any person performing work after the expiration date of the permit issued or otherwise violating the pro­visions of this ordinance shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction shall be punished by a fine of not more than $500.00 an/or six months in the City Jail. Every day that said violation occurs or ex­ists shall be considered a separate offense. SECTION 7. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed. SECTION 8. This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect upon its publication as in the next section provided, and final passage. SECTION 9. The City Clerk and the Clerk of the Board of Commissioners of the City of Las Vegas shall cause this ordinance to be published once a week for two successive weeks immediately following its first reading and adoption, in the Las Vegas Review Journal, a daily newspaper published in the City of Las Vegas. /s/ C.D.
