Evie Johnson, Van's ever-lovin' spouse, clutches Keenan Wynn's arm as he applauds for Van. Keenan is Evie's ex. Evie's kiss of congratulation distracts Van somewhat from the telegrams from well-wishers and June Allyson beams. Van and Evie think his night club.act is a fine idea, for it leaves him free to spend the day sunning at the hotel pool. Lovely Ann Jeffreys, who joined the Johnsons at dinner .that night, was one of his most enthusiastic fans. He plans a tour.
