I agree.Long Range Planning Committee Meeting Minutes August 29,1990 this is a function of a Jewish Community Center. Bea suggested that maybe JFSA could help facilitate something like they have in San Diego sponsored by the Jewish Family Services agency where they rent a home and provide meals and an opportunity to socialize. David felt that the agency needed to keep a counseling component to keep the agency focused. Bill suggested adding and information and referral program similar to a program he had received information about but needed to review. Arlene suggested Bill bring the information about this program to the next meeting. Adopt a senior and a foster grandparent programs mentioned as possibilities. David suggested the Board committees fine tune program ideas and if the Board develops the new programs they have to also provide a way to fund it. Bea questioned if the agency can afford to hire another counselor. A discussion ensued about increase in expenses and revenues of the fund-raising goals are met. Bea recommended that the Board work on one new task immediately i.e. adopt a grandparent so they can get enthusiastic about it. Bill suggested that the Board establish a specific committee for services for the elderly. They report back to the Board with an action plan to be proposed to the Board. A lengthy discussion ensued about agency staff members job descriptions and salaries. Goals set for next LRPC meeting: Bernie will bring all the information on the pros and cons of moving from the present location. Arlene and Bea will do Board development. Ruth will review job descriptions and salaries and make recommendations. Ruth requested personnel practices manual and list of employment benefits offered from Bill. Next meeting October 3, 1990 7:30PM Bea's home. Minutes subject to review, revision and approval Respectfully submitted Ruth Pearson Urban JFSA Long Range Planning Committee Recording Secretary
