Las Vegas - September 11, 1930 W 23-1-B Mr. Wm. Reinhardt: Your letter August 23, file 1-733*. regarding survey of water coolers conducted in the forepart of this year to determine whether they were equipped with recapture devices as required by City Ordinance. After the sprinkling restrictions were removed in July, the Special Officers were given a copy of the survey with instructions to recheck each of the exceptions noted and to issue citations in those cases where corrections had not been made. I attach copy of ay letters July 7 to the City Manager and July 24 and September 6 to the Mayor requesting a report of their findings and the action taken. Since no official report was forthcoming, I obtained through the Special Officers the Police Departments copy of the survey showing thereon the action taken on recheck of each exception, together with a recap showing the citations issued and the corrective action taken on refrigeration machines in the business district, which I am attaching herewith for your inspection. Please note about 90% of the exceptions were found to be corrected when the Special Officers rechecked that, and they issued about 200 citations covering the balance of the exceptions that were not corrected. After the attached report has served your purpose, will you kindly return it to me. A. M. Folger
