line 3
My Dear Mary.
line 4
Your letter was
line 5
welcomed, indeed, and 0! how
line 6
I enjoyed it for I could not feel
line 7
satisfied at reading it twice,
line 8
I have been very busy ever since
line 9
I came here on Saturday's and
line 10
am very glad that I have had
line 11
something to busy myself with.
line 12
I am going to tell you some
line 13
of the best news that you ever
line 14
heard. Well, just try and guess :
line 15
Yes, you have guessed the very
line 16
thing. Ma has another
line 17
lovely girl baby just one month
line 18
Page 2
old today and in two weeks
line 1
from today I shall be home
line 2
to see its darling face. 0! You
line 3
can hardly imagine how very
line 4
very impatient I am to get
line 5
home once more and see all
line 6
of the loved ones whoes names are associated with that sacred word - home which in its^self: seems to imply all that is on earth worth living for. The word seems to commend reverence.
How I hope you are anticipating, like my self a visit with^ the dear ones at your home for holidays. We intend to leave in one week from next Thursday afternoon, We have an awful, to awful, long road / travel over and the weather is very cold but where there's .a will -there's always a way and our wills are sufficiently strong , to take us out, far out, of Kanab.
0! Mary there are two nice young men who are going to escort us. Nellie and I, home. I can tell you more about who they are and how they look, dress, act. etc.after the trip is over.
By-the-by, my dear, how did you enjoy your Thinksgiving Bunker.

I am of the opinion that your
Page 3 line 11
Bunker would be to heavily
line 12
laden with Thanksgiving stories
line 13
to fly round many corners with
line 14
out the assistence of some nice
line 15
young lady of somewhere near
line 16
your size and complexion.(?)
line 17
Forgive me, dear Mary, for making
line 18
such an idle remark but I'll
line 19
alow you the same privilege, for
line 20
where "much is given, much is
line 21
expected."
line 22
This is a very sickly time in Kanab.
Page 4 line 1
Several of my students have had
line 2
to remain out the last week
line 3
on that account. I hope that
line 4
it will soon be all over with
line 5
as it breaks into their intrests
line 6
too much. I now have 70 pupils
line 7
and night generally finds me
line 8
very tired and ready for a rest
line 9
by a nice warm fire.
line 10
My room is cool and my news
line 11
basket ef is literally empty
line 12
so I'll close with lots of love
line 13
and A Merry Christmas
