\ LOS ANGELES & SALT LAKE RAILROAD COMPANY . . I --------- J. M. EVANS, AUDITOR ACCOUNTING DEPARTMENT ROOM 583 PACIFIC ELECTRIC BUILDING LOS ANGELES, cal., July 10 , 1919 In Re-ply refer to File No. / n Mr. J. Ross Clark, gild Yice President, Los Angeles, Cal. Lear Sir: Under date of June 24th, 1919, we rendered Sutherland Fruit Co. a statement of rentals due to May 1st, 1919, account lease of packing house at Riverside, amount ^>1028.41. They claim credit of #565.00 was allowed them on account of expense they were put to in installing a light fruit separator and have deducted this amount from our statement, forwarding their check for $463.41. I am attaching copy of Mr. Comstock*s letter dated May 8th 1919, which they submitted in support of their claim for the above credit. Will you kindly advise if we shall clear up our rental bills by allowing this credit, and as rental is based on 10$ of cost of machinery installed in the packing house, it will be necessary that this addition be charged to capital investment in the usual manner and rental increased accordingly. Yours truly.— _____
