Getting the scenery precisely placed requires split second timing on the part of all stage hands. Here, Mike is waiting for his cue during one of the production numbers. An accomplished artist, Miller's professional training began with a scholarship to Choinards Art Institute. After a stint in Uncle Sam's Army, he joined the Walt Disney Studios where he helped to create the animation sequences for such pictures as "Sleeping Beauty" and "101 Dalmations" and later held key posts on the NBC-TV and M-G-M lots as a scenic artist. While at M-G-M he helped execute the famous 380 by 60 foot backdrop for "The Brothers Grimm." Deciding to leave the Los Angeles tumult, Miller moved to Las Vegas with his wife and three children where he worked as a free lance artist for many of the advertising agencies and major hotels; he has for the past year and one-half operated a successful advertising art service. When he was recently on a special assignment in the Bahamas he designed the scenery for a spectacular stage production at one of the new luxury resorts. But Miller says his proudest achievement is the part he played in the execution of the scenery for "Pzazz! '68," which critics have unanimously acclaimed as "the best revue ever seen in Las Vegas." 9 ...
