GAMING APPLICATIONS New Johnnie Lane's Place Book Commissioner Bunker moved the application of Johnnie E. Lane dba Johnnie Lane’s Race Book, 115 North 1st Street for license for one Race Horse Book for the third quarter of 1953 be approved. Motion seconded by Commissioner Sharp and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Sharp and His Honor voting aye; noes, Commissioners Jarrett and Whipple. Commis­sioner Whipple stated that he was voting "No" because he objected to Race Books operating in the City. Commissioner Jarrett originally passed his vote and then change to "no" for the same reason that Commissioner Whipple had voted that way. Saratoga Place Book Commissioner Bunker moved the application of Sam Cohen dba Saratoga Place Book at 114 South 1st Street for license for one Place Horse Book for the third quarter of 1953 be approved. Motion seconded by Commissioner Sharp and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Sharp and His Honor voting aye; noes, Commissioners Jarrett and Whipple. GAMING APPLICATIONS New Commissioner Whipple moved the following new applications for gaming license for the 3rd quarter of 1 9 5 3 be approved: AUSTIN DRUG BONANZA LIQUOR FROSTY CONE PAR-A-DICE INN K. S. Austin C. R. Millhizer L. J. Hoffarth Mel G. Cooper 821 South 5th 416-18 Bonanza 408 North 5th 2217 Fremont 3 slots 1 2 slots 2 slots 2 slots Motion seconded by Commissioner Bunker and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Jarrett, Sharp, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. At this time Mr. Madison B. Graves representing the applicants for gaming license at the Fortune Club, 109 Fremont appeared before the Board. Mr. Graves stated that it was their request that the Board approve the application of Cecil Lynch, Harry Gordon and Robert Van Santen for license for two "21" games and one Crap Table at this location. Thereafter Commissioner Jarrett stated that he was going to disqualify himself in voting on this license since his brother Glenn Jarrett is negotiating to enter this enterprise. Commissioner Bunker moved the application of Cecil Lynch, Harry Gordon, and Robert Van Santen dba Fortune Club at 109 Fremont for gaming license for two "21" games and one Crap table for the third quarter of 1 9 5 3 be approved. Motion seconded by Commissioner Sharp and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Sharp, Whipple voting aye; noes, Commissioner Jarrett. Mayor Baker passed his vote: Little Casino At this time the application of Albert P. Hale for license for one pan game at the Little Casino, 110 North 1st Street was considered. Commissioner Whipple moved the application for license for one pan game for the third quarter of 1953, by Albert P. Hale at the Little Casino be approved. Motion seconded by Commissioner Jarrett and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Jarrett, Sharp, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. GAMING APPLICATIONS Commissioner Jarrett moved the application of P. J., John and Esther Buckley dba Buckley's Changes Inc. 20 Fremont for license of 60 slot machines for the third quarter of 1953, said appli­cation being a change in that Esther Buckley is added to the license, be approved subject to favorable investigation by the Police Department on the new applicant. Motion seconded by Commissioner Whipple and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Jarrett, Sharp, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Commissioner Whipple moved the application of Robert Testolin, James Fare to renew the license for one "21" game at the Cinnabar Casino and add the name of H. C. McGloun on the license for the third quarter of 1 9 5 3 be approved, subject to favorable investigation by the Police Department. Fortune Club 6- 29-93
