KENNEDY Acting City Manager NEGOTIATIONS - Sale City Owned Strip Property A special meeting of the Board of Commissioners of the City of Las Vegas, Nevada called to order at the hour of 4:00 P.M. by His Honor Mayor C.D. Baker with the following members present: Commissioner Commissioner Commissioner Mayor Acting City Mgr. Asst. City Atty. Dep. City Clerk Rex A. Jarrett Harris, P, Sharp Reed Whipple C.D. Baker A.H. Kennedy Ralston O. Hawkins Grace Valenziano Absent: Commissioner Wendell Bunker City Attorney Howard W. Cannon City Clerk Shirley Ballinger Mr. Clifford Jones was present to discuss the Sale of the City owned Strip Property with the Board. Mr. Jones spoke in behalf of Mr. Paul B. Sogg. The following proposal was made: To purchase the property owned by the City of Las Vegas located on U.S. Highway #91 South of Las Vegas, Nevada, and commonly known as and referred to as the "City of Las Vegas Strip Property", which property consists of 477 feet of Highway Frontage and comprises 44.71 acres, for the sum of $255,000.00 Dollars, payable in cash as follows: (a) Twenty Five Thousand Five $25,000.00 Dollars payable this date, which sum is to be placed in an escrow to be set up to cover this transaction, said escrow to close within ninety days from the date of its opening. (b) Further sum of One Hundred Thousand Dollars to be paid into such escrow within thirty days from the opening date thereof. (c) The balance of One Hundred Forty Five Thousand Five Hundred Dollars to be paid into said escrow on or before ninety days from the opening of same.
