Some days ago, Engineer Clausen and myself went over this matter and I believe that the most feasible way of serving the industrial sites south of Bonneville Street is outlined in Mr. Clausen’s letter to Superintendent Cunningham, which would mean a three-inch connection on our six inch line in the South Addition across Main Street to the industrial sites* to The following is an estimated cost of the connection carried the railroad property line: 1 - 6” Tee $ 12.00 1 - 6x3” Reducer 2.00 324’ - 3” Pipe 145.80 2 - 3" Elbows 45° 1.30 1 - 3" Gate Valve 14,00 Labor- 324' trenching, back filling and laying pipe @ 60/ per foot. 194.40 $369.50 As to construction of pipe line from this point north and south along Main Street: I suppose that will be paid for by the Railroad Company and the question now arises as to cost of service; whether the Railroad Company should make water collection from the renters located on their property, or whether the Las Vegas Land and Water Company should make these collections* It most certainly would be a decided loss to this Company to install pipe line and make charges comparable to those against the Union Oil Company and others. I might say, the Union Oil Company installed their own line in connection with ours and we are receiving $2.50 per month water rent from them, with no cost to us* However, I would like to discuss the matter more fully with you and will try to be in your office Friday morning, the 28th. The Rio Grande Oil Company, or their representatives, have said nothing further to me in connection with the emergency water tap from the PFE lines and are still using from same. 0. H« B.
